It’s similar to a Bible study–it has Scriptures and discussion topics. We are taking God’s word and applying it. We have people do social events together. So we have people register their group, download the guide, and we tell them to start learning and listening. Some people may not know any people of color and in those cases, we tell them to pray for God’s guidance.” “During the first year over 10,000 people downloaded the guide.” Pray God will bless Be the Bridge and their efforts, and that the church showing true racial reconciliation will be a light that draws people to Jesus.

And you, child, will be called the prophet of the Most High, for you will go before the Lord to prepare His ways, to give knowledge of salvation to His people in the forgiveness of their sins, because of the tender mercy of our God, whereby the sunrise shall visit us from on high to give light to those who sit in darkness and in the shadow of death, to guide our feet into the way of peace.’ ”

Our verses for this week are Isa. 49:5-7

Hi praying folks,
Our verses for this week are Isa. 49:5-7. And now says the LORD, who formed Me from the womb to be His Servant, to bring Jacob back to Him, in order that Israel might be gathered to Him (For I am honored in the sight of the LORD, and My God is My strength), He says, “It is too small a thing that You should be My servant to raise up the tribes of Jacob, and to restore the preserved ones of Israel; I will also make You a light of the nations so that My salvation may reach to the ends of the earth.” Thus says the LORD, the Redeemer of Israel, and its Holy One, to the despised One, to the One abhorred by the nation, to the Servant of rulers, “Kings shall see and arise, princes shall also bow down; because of the Holy One of Israel who has chosen You.”

6. FPCC Christmas offering will go to She is Safe. “SIS is providing colorful ruffled pantaloons, made locally for $10, to girls in Indonesia to protect them physically from attacks and warn potential attackers that they have people who will defend them. Pray for the safety of the girls and the people who help them. Pray God will transform the hearts of those doing the trafficking, and there will be testimonies like that of John Newton. Praise God for all He is doing through She is Safe. “5,297 women in self-help microloan groups received literacy and vocational training, peer support along with the gospel. 420 women workers were trained in how to lead Bible studies, share the gospel and teach life skills and abuse and trafficking prevention. 2,190 women and children made decisions to accept Christ. 2,975 mothers and community members were trained in trafficking and abuse prevention and recourse. 778 girls received shelter, counseling and vocational training to build new lives after being rescued from trafficking. 14 cell churches were started.”
7. Pray those who receive gifts and supermarket gift cards through the Giving Tree will be blessed and know God loves them. Pray for connections between the families who receive the gifts and those who deliver them, and especially between the families and Christ.
8. Pray for plenty of toy donations for BARM for their Christmas party for needy children.
9. Folks from Hillside Covenant just returned from mission trips to Mexico and Thailand; pray for lasting benefit for both those who went and those who were served.
10. Praise God for people who read the Bible for the first time, in their own language, at the InterVarsity Fall Conference. Continue to pray for full funding for Julie so she can be full-time with IV past February, and for a job for her husband James that fits his skills.
11. Pray also for a job for Bill. Pray God will bless their family and their outreach.

Thanks for praying! God bless you! Sherri

Happy Thanksgiving! Our verses for this week are Ps. 138:1-8

Hi praying folks,
Happy Thanksgiving! Our verses for this week are Ps. 138:1-8. “I will give You thanks with all my heart; I will sing praise to You before the gods. I will bow down toward Your holy temple and give thanks to Your name for Your loving kindness and Your truth; for You have magnified Your word according to all Your name. On the day I called, You answered me; You made me bold with strength in my soul. All the kings of the earth will give thanks to You, O LORD, when they have heard the words of Your mouth. And they will sing of the ways of the LORD, for great is the glory of the LORD. For though the LORD is exalted, yet He regards the lowly, but the haughty He knows from afar. Though I walk in the midst of trouble, You will revive me; You will stretch forth Your hand against the wrath of my enemies, and Your right hand will save me. The LORD will accomplish what concerns me; Your loving kindness, O LORD, is everlasting; do not forsake the works of Your hands.”

1. Thank the LORD for His great salvation, and His many other blessings to us.
2. Pray for the peace of Christ to rule in Thanksgiving gatherings, especially in families where people voted differently in the recent election.
3. Thank God for the Church without Shoes prayer meeting. There were three themes: Repentance, Rebirth and a New Season, and Relentless Pursuit of God. Join in praying a few of the prayers that were offered: a. “Forgive us as Your Church for all the things we’ve lusted after and put before You.” “Forgive us for the times we judge other people’s sin and don’t even see our own.” “Forgive us as a body for participating in the anger and derision of this election, and for laying down the weapons of love and gentleness.” b. “We come in agreement and ask for more of You.” “Thank You for choosing us to be reborn; help us have the courage to birth others through the Holy Spirit.” “Dance in the rain, be excited again to talk about the gospel.” “The Lord is bringing a new season, the Spirit of hope and the joy of the LORD in this valley.” c. “Pray the gift of hunger and thirst would be awakened in our valley.” “When we pursue the knowledge of God, You will come like the rain.” “The Bridegroom is coming over the hills. The Bride’s chains are broken when she looks on Him. Dance in the freedom we’re meant for.” “Be bold in joy, in peace, in love.”
4. Angel Tree–Pray for gifts to children of prisoners, that they may know God loves them and is with them. “Prison Fellowship is prayerfully preparing to give a Zonderkidz Adventure Bible to every Angel Tree child who wants one.” Pray for abundant provision of funds for the Bibles.
5. Various churches in our area are participating in Operation Christmas Child, the Giving Tree, gifts for Monument Impact helping the Monument Community, Blessing Bags, donations to CityTeam for holiday meals, toy barrels for BARM, Salvation Army Christmas buckets… Pray for generous hearts and God’s abundant provision. Pray the great love of the Father who sent His Son to die for us will be known through the tangible gifts.
6. Consecration Sunday at FPCC 12/4. Pray people will give their time, talents and treasure for the kingdom of God. Pray God’s Church in downtown Concord will be effective, God’s presence will be known, and lives will be changed.
7. Continue to pray for jobs that fit them for Bill and for James, so they can provide for their families.
8. Christmas Concert at FPCC 12/11 with Cathedral Choir, The Flock, and Carol Sing-Along. Pray for lots of visitors. Pray people will be drawn to the Christ we sing about.
9. Bob, Frontiers–Their motto is, “With love and respect, inviting all Muslim peoples to follow Jesus.” “Frontiers is a Christian ministry that reaches out to Muslims worldwide. Bob currently has the responsibility for sharing the news of Christ in the war-torn areas of the Middle East. Please pray for the key decisions on the deployment and support of missionaries in those areas that Bob has to make on a daily basis. Pray also for the missionary volunteers, for increased church support and additional funding sources, and for wisdom for Bob.”
10. Pray for those who are far from their families during this holiday season, that they will be welcomed into homes and also be part of God’s family.

Thanks for praying! God bless you! Sherri
